(Da Lat) pronunciation is the capital of Lam Đong Province in Vietnam. The town is located 1500 m (4,920 ft) above sea level on the Langbiang Plateau in the southern parts of the Central Highlands. According to a myth from the French colonial era, the name derives from the acronym of the Latin phrase 'Dat Aliis Laetitiam Aliis Temperiem', which the French colonial government used in their official emblem of Đa Lạt. In reality the name derives from the language of the local ethnic group Lạt and its original meaning is "Stream of the Lạt", and the acronym above is in fact a backcronym. In Vietnam, Đa Lạt is a popular tourist destination - highly appreciated for its temperate climate, beautiful sights such as waterfalls and lakes and its abundance of flowers and vegetables

(Flower Garden):It is at the end of Xuan Huong lake, close to the romatic Cu hill, away from the city centre about 2km. Formerly, it had the name Bich Cau Flower garden. From 1986, it has been renovated to a flower garden of the city. Now, the garden has the biggest selection of flowers in Dalat with hundreds kinds of flowers.
Besides the traditional flowers that visitors have known such as ortensiaes, mimosas, roses...etc these are also other kinds of flowers that have been brought to dalat for 10 years now such as daffodils, lilies... Here, there is the garden of orchids, these orchids are pretty big and they are the most beautiful in Dalat so visitors can watch or buy. On Lunar New’s Day, there is a Flower Festival and artists gather here to show their flowers, their orchids, their decorated trees...
(EmperorBao Dai Summer Palace)
Da Lat's three palaces are referred to simply as Palace 1, Palace 2, and Palace 3. The palaces were all completed by the French, but only Palace 3 was a royal home. It was owned by the last emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, Bao Dai. You can find it on Le Hong Phong Road, about a quarter of a mile southwest of Da Lat's central district. The palace is open to the public. Bao Dai was Vietnam's playboy emperor who disappeared into exile in France and Monaco after WWII. His family's living quarters are still decorated in yellow. Photographs of the emperor and his family still hang on the walls.

(Valley of Love) : is 5km north of Da Lat, Vietnam. Its former name is Valley of Peace. In 1972 with the creation of lake Da Thien, its name was changed. It is in the temperate central highlands of Vietnam. The cool temperatures attract natives and tourists to the area. The temperature high in the summer is 25 C!
The Valley of Love is the Vietnam honeymoon destination. Couples from all over the country travel here. It is the Niagara Falls of Vietnam. There are cowboys wearing guns and riding horses. The relationship between love and fierce western cowboys is unclear, but they are there.
The man-made lake is beautiful. Sailboats and paddle boats ply the waters. People scoff at the swan-shaped paddle boats. Yet, I see a relationship between love and couples in paddle boats.

(Xuan Huong lake)
Xuan Huong lake is the most beautiful lake in Da Lat. It is approximately 5 km2. In 1919 a dam was formed on a branch of Camly river creating a small lake. In 1923, another dam was built further down stream to create yet another lake. During a severe storm in 1932, both dams were destroyed. Between 1934-35, a larger dam was built of boulders (site of Ong Dao bridge today) below the sites of the two previous dam creating one large lake named Ho Lon or Large lake. Ho Lon was later renamed after Ho Xuan Huong, a famous vietnamese poet in the 17th-century.

(Dambri waterfall)
DambRi is a word in the Co ho language. It means "waiting." It is the combined names of two lovers,Dam and H'Ri. According to legend, H'Ri often came here to bathe when the waterfall was much smaller. One day, Dam (sometimes also called Kdam) came to the stream during a hunt. When he cast his eyes upon H'Ri bathing, he was mesmerized by her beauty. Dam and H'Ri eventually fell in love and got married.

(Pongour Waterfall) It is in Tan Hoi commune, Duc Trong district, 45km from Dalat, 7km from the National road No.20. It is one of the most beautiful and impressive waterfall in the western Highlands with a height of over 20m, its side is a hundred meters and its base is over 10m so thousands of people can have a good time here. Tourist expert haven’t hesitated to name Pongour “The best waterfall of the Southern Zone”. According to a legend of the minorities, this waterfall is related to the story of Lady ka Nai-a pretty chief of tribe who had built a prosperous life for the K’ho. The legend said that was the place where the animals left their traces of their horns. Pogour has a festival every year on the 15th of the Lunar January and this day is a spring day for Dalat Lam Dong youth with many traditional games, traditional cultural festivities of local people

(Prenn Waterfall) Prenn Pass levels out near the entrance to the Prenn Waterfall, which is a major attraction for Vietnamese and foreign tourists. The waterfall tumbles over a wide overhang and into a broad pool below. A path circles around the pool so that visitors can walk behind the waterfall and look out through the curtain of water.

(Cam Ly Waterfall) The waterfall is very near the city centre-only 2km from the market and it only cost 4000dongs to go there by motorbikes. It is at the end of Hoang Van Thu street. Formerly, it was the residential place of the tribe of the ethnic minorities (there is now a Cam Ly church which is pretty big). The waterfall flows down like a lady’s long hair. For a long time, it has been famous with this song: “Oh, Dalat! Can you hear Cam Ly sobbing for its first broken love...”

(Truc Lam Pagoda) Though established in 1994, Truc Lam Pagoda has become famous. Standing in Phoenix Mountain, Truc Lam Pagoda is about 1,300m above the sea-level. The pagoda is surrounded by pure lake water and pine trees. A road from Tuyen Lam Lake leads to 222 steps and then to Truc Lam Pagoda. Inside the main chamber is a Buddha statue sitting on a lotus stage. Next to the main chamber is a campanile with a two-layer roof. This gently architecture and fresh air around the pagoda offer visitors a peacefull atmosphere. Tourists visit Truc Lam pagoda to learn more about Buddhism and to enjoy beautiful landscapes.

(Da Lat Cathedral)
The cathedral, was built between 1931 and 1942. This cathedral was used by the French who visited and vacationed in Dalat.

(Hang Nga Guesthouse & Art Gallery), nicknamed by locals the Crazy House by its bizarre architecture. It’s a counter-cultural gem created by artist and architect Mrs Dang Viet Nga (known as Hang Nga).

(Domaine De Marie Convent) This church is also called The Cherry church because formerly there were a lot of cherry trees at this place. From a chapel of the nuns of Altruism, in 1943, the church was built with a more special architecture than any other
churches.

The church still has the statue of St Marry, 3m high, 1 ton in weight, which was a present from the Indochinese governor’s wife, Mrs. Decoux. This is also the place where she was buried-behind the church. She was the sponsor of the church and she was burried here according to her will
(Lake of Sights) This natural lake situated on top of a hill covered with pine trees, 6km east of Dalat City, Lam Dong Province. The sounds from the forest resemble the sighing of an invisible man. The lake has been surrounded by many stories and legends with sorrowful endings in which the heroine drowns in the lake to keep her true love forever.The lake has a vast and calm surface. Standing on the edge of the lake, a small path running towards the forest can be seen.

(Da Lat market): One of Da Lats charm is the laid-back way of living of the local people. On any given day, from early morning to late at night, Da Lat's Central market is bustling with activities. Unlike most market in Vietnam, Da Lat's market has an open promenade where people can walk about. At the end of the promenade is a stair leading to the Le Dai Hanh Street, one of Da Lat's major thoroughfare. Da Lat enjoys favorable weather year round. During the winter months the average temperature in Da Lat is 10 degrees C. During the summer months the average temperature here is 18 degrees C. The locals claim that Da Lat is Vietnam's botanical garden in the middle of a pine forest. Many of the countrie's fruits and vegetables come from this part of the country.

(Tuyen Lam Lake) 5km south of town on highway 20. Its clean green waters flow from the beautiful Tia Spring and from the Da Tam River, which flows down from Voi mountain. Its waters stretch over an immense 350 hectares and because of its various sources, Tuyen Lam is known as the lake where rivers, springs and forests meet. The lake was built in the 80s. It is one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in town. The other side of the lake is the Voi mountain which is a good place for hiking.
