(Can Tho City) the name comes from "cam thi giang" - river of poems, is a city in Vietnam. The city, regarded as "Western capital", with an estimated population of 1,121,000 as of 2004, is the biggest city in the Mekong Delta. The city is located on the south bank of Hau River, the bigger branch of the Mekong River. It is 169 km from H Chí Minh City, Vietnam’s largest city. Cn Thơ’s climate is tropical and monsoonal with two seasons: rainy, from May to November and dry, from December to April. Average annual humidity is 83%, rainfall 1,635 mm and temperature 27 °C. Administratively, Can Thơ City constitutes an independent municipality at the same level as provinces of Vietnam. It was created in the beginning of 2004 by a split of the former Cn Thơ Province into two new administrative units: Can Thơ City and Hau Giang Province.

(Cai Rang Floating Market)
Together with Cai Be and Phung Hiep, Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho City is one of the three biggest in the Mekong Delta. The shops and stalls at these markets are boats of different sizes.
Cai Rang Floating Market is open all day but it is busiest from sunrise to about 9am. The main items sold there are farm products and specialties of Cai Rang Town, Chau Thanh District and neighboring areas. Every boat has a long upright pole at its bow on which samples of the goods for sale are hung.

(Phong Dien Floating Market) Boats loaded with produce from nearby orchards of the Mekong Delta converge to the floating market. They carry mostly fruits but also coconuts, vegetables and fishes.
Buyers are local traders with bigger boats snapping everything by the bushels and resell at local markets or to wholesale dealers from big cities, often for a handsome profit.

Acient House in Binh Thuy)
It deals with an ancient house in Binh Thuy. The owner is respected Mr. Duong Minh Hien, an old sentimental man, by chance, remaining in the XX century. It is just thanks to its maintained ancientness that this house was chosen as one of recording sites for the romantic film "Lover" of producer J. Annaud.
The native homeland of the Duongs' family was originally in Nha Man, Dong Thap province, but they moved to Binh Thuy, Can Tho province and installed themselves here more than 100 years ago.
